Civil Rights

Civil Rights

The Word Equality is very important with the civil rights movement. It's important because much of the civil rights movement has to do with equality where many people are treated different from others. This is because of their color or race and that's not fair. We all need to be treated the same. In today's world we don't have equality. There is too much racism still going on. As a Latino student I don't face racism and I've never encountered a problem with some one being racist to me and not giving me the same privilege as another person. We face these things every day, not only in the U.S. Equality troubles are all over the globe.

Civil Rights is important to every human being in the world because it keeps society stable. If people don't recognize that they have rights, society will crumble to the ground or probably even get burned down. The government can be evil and not care about us. That's why we always have to keep in mind that we are someone, that we are important. We have a voice and when things go wrong, our voice needs to be heard. In today's world it is hard to find a job because of a low economy. Because of all the wars that are going on around the world, most of the money spent is for ammunition food relief and other things that are not important. While the government wastes money on nonsense when they can be helping the poor and help create jobs they go and spent it on wars and construction. I just don't understand how people don't have a heart. Civil Rights is a key to a door and that door is happiness. We all have the rights to be happy but can't. Sometimes people go looking for jobs for example let say an African-American go for a job and so does a white American they both have the same type of education and degree but still the white man gets pick over the black why? because of racism I can't believe is still goes on today. We are all the same created equal. So why must we get treated different than the rest because our skin color.

The Declaration of Independence say's everybody is created equal but still we face a lot of problems when certain people feel that they are better than others. It gets me mad just knowing that today we don't even remember what the Declaration says. It's like certain people don't care about others. The Declaration brings people their Independence Freedom and the right to be happy but sometimes we do not find joy sometimes the one who are suppose to keep us happy not keep us sad. The Declaration is very important today and it will always be as long as we live. When officers violate us and our civil rights for example our freedom of speech they do things they are not suppose to sometimes we talk because we don't want to get locked up or we didn't have to do nothing with the crime. Sometimes they take it so far that if I don't stay shut they start hitting me and we have to keeps our mouth shut just because of the Miranda rights I Think everybody should get the time to talk before they get taken into custody. I feel like this is a violation to our rights. Why must I wait till I get to court to tell you my part of the story Its just not right.

We have not yet overcome the racial barriers and Civil Rights problems that we face daily. Just because we got a black president in office doesn't mean that we are going to overcome many problem. The one good thing about this is that now anybody can be president not just white. This major accomplishment means that we can overcome may obstacles in life and keep pursuing our dreams, because Obama close that gap were we taught we would never see a black or spanish president now we to have a chance to have a voice like his. Yes our voice needs to be heard. In order to get our rights like we deserve them. That's what Obamas election says that not matter the difficulties your are going through we need to keep on striving to accomplish our goals. Not letting others put us down because we are poor and they are rich. Now that obama is President we have a better chance of getting things the way we like because I know he knows how hard it is for kids like me and others to grow up and become successful with all the dramas that goes on in our life. Just because Obama's is president doesn't mean racism is over. I don't think to many people are happy with Obama being in that position. When it comes to equality we have achieved it because everybody could do what they want to a certain extant of the law. We all have the rights to go to the school of our choice for example we don't get denied because of skin color like back in the days. I don't think we have a problem with equality unless there are people being treated different behind close doors but I wouldn't know. I just hope everybody gets treated the same but from what it looks 53% of whites say black and white get treated the same but only 30% black agreed with this. This proves that we still have a lot of work to get done

According to ''The Pound Cake speech" given by Bill Cosby we need to know our rights and stop doing the wrong things. It's a great speech because he constantly remind us that we are here for a reason. I really like the speech because he talks about many different topics such as the Brown trial. This was a good speech because he tells us how back then we wanted to go to school and now we have a 50% dropout rate and the other rest are locked up. This is very important with the civil rights because we have put up a fight for years to get the proper education and now we throw it away. That's a bad look for the civil rights movement because its like they did all that hard work for no reason. Many young man are locked up behind bars because of bad parenting moreover that's a bad look because parents are suppose to be there for their child when they really not and that's why many families have problem and issues. Our obligations are to do good not bad,to go out into the world and make yourself happy by getting a job. Instead of standing on a corner selling drugs. We cannot take a step backwards we must march forward and help each other instead of killing each other.

The story is great because in this story everybody is equal no one is different. The short story is very good because no one is suffering you see everybody is equal. People that are cute have to wear a mask so that they are not cuter than the rest. This makes sense because some people get jealous of others and how they look. To me handicap is a negative word because it might make the handicap children feel like their not equal to others because they are being called by a name that's not their name. I Say they are differently able because its sounds better but that's just my perspective. People just can't do certain that other regular kids could. We should change it to that they might just feel more comfortable. This story definitely is a good one it shows us no matter the circumstances we must all act equal and not treat people who are differently able from others bad because you'll never know how they'll take it instead we have to treat them with respect and love them.

I was reading the Langston Hughes poem dreams and it goes very well with civil rights because it constantly reminds us that we have to keep dreaming big and never quit because if you do you are not going to find happiness. This poem tells us to fight and if our dreams it's to have our rights then keep dreaming and fighting to obtain those rights. This poem might influence others to fight and march forward. To me this poem is great because when you dream you are living life because you have something to look forward to. You have something to motivate you to get out of bed and get to work so like that you may be a step closer in accomplishing your goals.

John Hope Franklin's life was very important to the civil rights movement because he constantly taught about slavery and reconstruction. He played an important roll in the movement because he work with major figures like Martin Luther King J.R. and also Thurgood Marshall. He was a very intelligent man he also wrote a book called "From Slavery to Freedom" which has sold over 3 million copies since being released in 1947 and to mention that it's been translated into Japanese German French and Chinese. John help reshape America and our civilization. Mr.Hope helped us realized that America was divided in half black and whites, whites being the superior race while the black were inferior and in this case treated differently. Thanks to him and members of Thurgood Marshall's lawyer team. We owe this man alot because he fought for our freedom and for our well being. He was a good man this is why in 1995 Bill Clinton awarded him the Freedom Medal of Honor for his hard works and effort to reshape America and because of him we shold remind each other that we are the same. We must keep the movement moving we deserve our rights. He was dedicated to hardworking even though people use to sometimes confuse him as a nobody like once a man gave him car keys to park his car. Thanks to Mr. hope and his comrads today we have a better day. To him we owe our love.

Obamas speech on race was very critical because it show's how important race s and how bad slavery is. I Love it and I thinks its very positive because it shows how he thinks. It shows how smart he is and how much he cares about others. He tells us a few things bout his life which is good because it gives us a better glimpse of who he is. He opens up to us about what he thinks about America he talks about the war were fighting and how some view us. I like the speech because he uses many things to get his message across. I think Obamas speech is very influential to those are going through hard times and need some words to lift them up. Obama is a great man and this speech shows it. Obama touches a bunch of topics such as black discrimanation the laws of the constitution and how some were left open so that we may change them and come to an agreement with each other. I love it this speech tells us all that we must keep fighting. We can't give up now there is people out their who need us.

The portion of the speech given by president Obama is towards the Civil Rights movements because it is addressing our education. He is telling everyone tat we cannot dropout because that affects us all. We as a nation have one of the highest dropout rates in the world. This speech is very inspiring because Obama tells us all that he is going to do what ever he can so that the debt that out parents face now is not the debt we face tomorrow. This is an outstanding speech were he tells us about a young girl in South Carolina who wrote to him to tell him about the troubles her and friends face at school. She ask him for help because she's not getting the proper education at school because the school has a leak and the school is right the train barrels. She's fighting for her rights which is very good because she fighting for the right to have an education, the right to become someone in tomorrow day.

The speech given by William Julian Wilson was a very good one because it shows that we still have a lot of work to be done because he tells us all that male black man have a lot of trouble finding jobs because of their background. He talks about how people in his own condo view him as a minority when he is dress casual. They see him differently because he is black which is not right because it shows that other races view black as a low class minority and this is no good. It just shows how many people are still racist, moreover hoe they put blacks down. This is a fabulous speech he shows us that we need change in America people are still being treated wrong and the poor black people have many trouble because most of them can't find a job. Very important speech infact I think is better than the Bill Cosby speech because he tells us the poor ghetto communities of blacks are isolated from the outside world. Thats a major issue because most of the people living in those area are without a job. What this mean is that they need help and they are not getting it.

The Beer Summit fits into my argument in a good way because it shows that Obama doesn't like discrimination. This Fits in my argument because we are talking about our rights and that professor got treated unequally because he was black. Obama at first came wrong in saying that the police officer acted stupidly which he was right but i don't think he should off say that in that way. This is very important because he took time out his own schedule to meet with the professor and the officer, this shows that he really cares about racial discrimination and that it needs to stop.

The farmers got a better deal now that Obama is president because they wasn't getting the right respect that they deserve, but now that obama is here they are looking for a brighter future. Obama is helping them find just that. Congress pass a new bill to help out the farmers and obama is happy with that. The farmers are mostly all black and before Obama was president the only time they got a bill pass to help them was in 1999 when Bill Clinton was in office. Now more than 70,000 farmers are looking for relief througgh this settlement. Also they are helping those who lost they farms with 50,000 dollars it will help them do better.

Mr.Duncan is looking to enforce new laws for Schools especially in North Carolina because some school are fully black and in some other counties they are mostly white with few black Americans,Which I myself don't find good but now he's trying to change that. He's also trying to enforce laws so that everybody has the equal right to go to good colleges that teaches student good curriculums. Most of all he's trying to help those who have a disabilitites.
